Among the most elegant and imposing of the chairs designed by German designer Ludwig Mies van der Rohe is the opulent leather Barcelona Loveseat. Developed as part of Mies' design of the German Pavillion and its contents at the 1929 International Exhibition in Barcelona, this sofa is truly elegant.
Our Replica Barcelona lounge is made to the specifications of the original design, and is covered in top grain Italian leather, with full leather cushions. Each panel of leather has been hand cut and sewn, each button individually stitched to create superior comfort and style.
Multi density polyurethane foam with Dacron wrap provides lasting support and comfort to the cushioning, ensuring many years of pleasure from this hand constructed item. The legs and frame are high grade stainless steel 12mm thick, hand polished to a mirror finish.
Please note cheap imitations have leather only on the surfaces of the cushion, with fake leather (PU, Vinyl) on the back and sides of the cushions and are often made with a chrome frame. PU has a very low tear strength, and while may be suitable in appearance and can significantly reduce the cost of your new chair - it can result in reupholstery in the short term. We do not use imitation leather or chrome on any of our sofa's or lounge chairs at Replica Furniture.
