Product Description
The Womb Chair was created in 1948 by Eero Saarinen. The chair was a result of a challenge by Florence Knoll to the Finnish-born architect and designer Eero Saarinen to create a chair that she could curl up in and relax.
The Womb Chair's enveloping form continues to be one of the most recognized representations of mid-century Scandinavian organic modernism. It was also a favourite of Hugh Heffner, and appeared in the playboy US magazine in the 1950's.
Our Replica Womb Chair is created based on the specifications of the original design and features foam moulded over a solid one-piece inner fiberglass core. The entire chair is covered in a pure wool fabric with additional seat cushions and back cushions. The Ottoman is also covered in pure wool, with an additional cushion to ensure supreme comfort. The legs on the chair and ottoman are stainless steel. This chair has the look and feel of the original design using premium materials, at an affordable price.
