The Tizio Desk Lamp was originally designed by Richard Sapper in 1972.
The Tizio lamp represented a breakthrough in more ways than one. The metal arms, which conduct the low-voltage electricity from the transformer in the base to the bulb, are perfectly counterbalanced and can hold in any position. This removes the need for visible wiring. The Tizio incorporated a halogen bulb, which was one of the first uses of this technology outside the automotive industry.
The Tizio lamp was a winner of the Compasso d'Oro in 1989 and is now part of a permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA).
Our Replica Tizo Desk Lamp is based on the specificactions of the original design, with a maximum Height of 56cm and 65cm Length, the base is 10cm Wide. The Tizio is available in a black powdercoat.
