The eight ply shell is constructed from alternate layers of hardwood and softwood with a real rosewood veneer (not a wood laminate) added to the exterior side.  The addition of the rosewood veneer produces a magnificent contrast to the lighter plywood interior shell.   The shock mounts allow for that slight flex to find the perfect relaxing position. The matching ottoman is also finished in pure Italian leather with leather piping, and has a four star base with no swivel.
